WHO
We are the Audio Team from Highpoint Church, based out of Naperville, IL.
WHY
In trying to solve the problem of effectively training current and new volunteers, we created The Q where we Define our Philosophy and Refine our Skills.
WHAT
Based on the training videos we have made for our team, we have created this online course to provide some clear and helpful tools to allow your engineers to get to the next level. Each course comprises of two elements where we help to Define and Refine.
Define
How we approach mixing is just as important as pushing faders. We want you to have a crystal clear vision for how you want your mix to sound before you start mixing. Often times there is a lack of clarity between the engineers and leadership as to how it should sound or even how loud it should be. Our desire is to connect the audio engineer and overseer (leader, pastor, elder) so that there is unity towards your common goal.
Refine
Mixing is an art with many techniques and nuances. Great engineers need a firm grasp of the tools available and the creative ways of using them. Many people have never had professional training. They might have been shown what an EQ or compressor does, but are left to their own devices on how to best use them. Our courses will show you some best practices from professional engineers so that you can use the tools effectively. We cover EQ, compression/gates, effects and more.
